4 Cricut Projects for the Classroom That You Will Love

During the back to school season, it’s exciting to think about the new students you’ll meet and how the year will go. I want to share some of my favourite Cricut projects for the classroom to help you prepare for next year! Most of your time will be spent in your classroom. These projects can not only personalize your room, but also make the space more functional and organized.

Cricut Project #1: Line Up Spots

This Cricut project is easy to prepare. You just need your Cricut to cut out circles (or another fun shape, like stars). Depending on the size of your classroom and the number of students you have, you can adjust the size of your spots. I typically make 3.5 inch circles in rainbow colours.

I suggest using temporary vinyl for this project because you might want to remove these at the end of the year without damage. Temporary vinyl is still heavy-duty, though, so it can last through the usual wear and tear a classroom experiences throughout the year.

Line up spots is one of the first cricut projects for the classroom I ever did. All you need to do is cut vinyl in circles and instal it on the floor.

Cricut Project #2: Board Decals & Teacher Toolbox

Another handy Cricut project is board decals. If you have certain sections of your board that stay the same all year (like agenda, absences, calendar, etc.), then you can create semi-permanent labels to mark the area.

What I love about this Cricut project is you can still wash and erase your board without worrying about your labels coming off. Plus, they last a long time, so it’s one less thing to fix as the year goes on.

I suggest using temporary vinyl for this project as well. If you change classrooms at the end of the year, you can pull it off easily. However, you won’t be able to reuse them once they come off, so you’ll have to cut a new set next year.

You can also create decals using the same process for your teacher toolbox. I bought mine from a local hardware store, but you can also find them online. Start by making a list of all of your drawers, and decide what you want to put in each of them. Then measure, and create your labels using your favourite font and vinyl colour. You’ll be organized for years to come!

Another great cricut idea for the classroom is creating a teacher toolbox. I labelled it using vinyl and it keeps all of my classroom supplies organized.

Cricut Project #3: Binder Labels

If you’re like me and you use binders to store master copies, curriculum, student work, and more, then you’ll love this Cricut project. These binder labels will make it easy to identify what’s inside each binder while also giving your binder a clean and organized look.

You can use any colours or fonts that you want, which is also a fun way to personalize your binder. I recommend using permanent vinyl for this project.

Because all my binders are black, I decided to use rainbow colours and a nice thick font. I made sure to use a random order for the colours, not alphabetically, because if I need to add a binder, the pattern breaking would drive me bananas!

One of my favourite cricut projects for back to school is labelling all of my binders. It makes them look organized, easy to read and quick to grab.

Cricut Project #4: Bulletin Board Headers

This is probably my favourite Cricut project! With a Cricut, you can create fully customized bulletin board headers. For this Cricut project, you’ll need cardstock. I recommend a variety pack, so you have various colours to choose from. I also find neon cardstock to be really fun.

You can even layer letters and colours together! Spray adhesive makes it easy to stick the letters together and also paste them onto the bulletin board.

DIY bulletin board headers are another perfect cricut craft for the classroom. They're quick and easy to make and your bulletin boards will look cute for years to come!

I hope these Cricut projects inspire ideas for getting your classroom ready for back to school. There are so many ways to use a Cricut for your classroom. If you need a push to invest in one, take this as your sign!
