Kindergarten Literacy During Distance Learning

Home learning has been a weird time for all of us; teachers, students and parents. It seems daunting and overwhelming, but once you have a good system in place for Kindergarten literacy during distance learning, it can run quite easily without too much work on your end.

My teaching partners and I chose to do one large document per week. It contains French literacy, English literacy, Math and Play-Based activities. It is a mixture of worksheets and hands on activities. We suggested that parents choose a few activities each week to focus on, totalling to 5 hours of work per week.

I have many resources (specifically alphabet work) found in my store already that would be great to send home to parents for Kindergarten literacy during distance learning. All the resources found below can be purchased individually or as a bundle (also available in English). I have also been using Boom Learning with my class (using the decks I had previously created found here) as well as Lalilo. Both are being offered for free right now. Lalilo is great for parents to use at home to help teach their child sounds and early reading skills through online games.

Here are my alphabet resources for kindergarten that are great to send home during distance learning. They are a great selection of worksheets.

I have created a distance learning resource focusing on French literacy concepts for kindergarten. They have a variety of different activities and games that will cater to a variety of different levels. It is a 50 page document and includes enough work to get you through about a month or so if you are sending out activities weekly.

Here are some of the pages in my Literacy Distance Learning Pack. It is a 50 page document full of activities to be done at home.

I have updated my terms of use for my resources for the duration of COVID-19 social isolation. Please see the image below for the details.

I hope this helps you find ideas that work well for your class. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d love to help out however I can!
